The Banana Splits are back...and out for blood!
One banana, two banana, three banana, GORE! The cult-favourite animal rock-band from Hanna-Barbera’s 1968 The Banana Splits Adventure Hour variety program is back with a blood-spattered vengeance!
There was always something a little creepy about Bingo, Fleegle, Snorky and Drooper, and in The Banana Splits Movie they're going full psycho as they prey on a young boy and his family during a taping of their show.
Okay, so turning a beloved children's show into an R-rated horror movie is quite the move on Warner Bros' part, but if any kids show was suitable for such a transformation it's this one.
The movie stars Dani Kind, Finlay Wojtak-Hissong, Romeo Carere, Steve Lund and Sara Canning. Danishka Esterhazy (Level 16) directs.
The Banana Splits Movie hits Digital on August 13th, followed by a Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD on August 27th in the US and Canada. Details of a UK release have yet to be announced.
