Hark's supernatural fantasy is set to make its blu-ray debut in April.
Director Tsui Hark's 1983 supernatural fantasy adventure Zu Warriors from the Magic Mountain was a milestone in Hong Kong cinema, ramping up the industry's special effects and influencing western filmmakers like John Carpenter, whose Big Trouble in Little China is hugely indebted to Hark's film.
Zu Warriors is set to make its worldwide blu-ray debut on April 20th when Eureka Entertainment release Hark's movie from a new 2K restoration.
Special features include select-scene audio commentary by critic and Asian cinema expert Tony Rayns; a new and exclusive interview with Hark; the film's European cut; a 1989 episode of Son of the Incredibly Strange Film Show featuring Hark; archival interviews and trailers. The initial print run of 2000 units comes with a limited edition slipcase and collector's booklet.
