New trailer for Lucía Garibaldi's acclaimed directorial debut.
Lucía Garibaldi scooped the Directing Award in World Cinema at this year's Sundance Film Festival for her directorial debut The Sharks and had been picking up wins on the festival circuit before COVID-19 put an end to such events.
The Uruguayan coming of age drama stars young actress Romina Bentancur as 14-year-old Rosina, who falls for an older boy amid panic that her sleepy beach community may be attracting a school of sharks.
The Sharks debuts on US VOD April 14th, followed by a DVD release on April 28th. A UK/ROI release has yet to be announced.
Check out the trailer, poster and official synopsis below.
The official synopsis reads:
14-year-old Rosina lives in a beach resort rumored to be plagued by sharks. Upon meeting the older Joselo, she feels a desire to bridge the distance between their bodies and begins to circle him, as if inspired by the mysterious predators.
