New trailer for director Martha Stephens' acclaimed drama.
A recent trend has seen movies re-released in black and white versions, with Mad Max: Fury Road and Parasite being the most notable examples. In the case of director Martha Stephens' To the Stars, the process has been reversed. To the Stars premiered way back at Sundance 2019 as a black and white film, but for its forthcoming VOD release the movie has been colourised. Whether this decision came directly from Stephens or from a nervy distributor is unclear.
The film stars Kara Hayward as Iris, a nerdy teen in 1960s Oklahoma who forms a bond with Maggie (Liana Liberato), the enigmatic new arrival at her school. But Maggie has a past which catches up her and causes a scandal in the small town.
Shea Whigham, Jordana Spiro, Adelaide Clemens, Lucas Jade Zumann, Malin Åkerman and Tony Hale also star.
To the Stars is on US VOD April 24th, with a UK/ROI release yet to be announced.

The official synopsis reads:
Under small town scrutiny, a withdrawn farmer's daughter forges an intimate friendship with a worldly but reckless new girl in 1960s Oklahoma.
