The cult '80s teen comedy gets a musical remake.
Martha Coolidge's 1983 teen rom-com Valley Girl introduced the world to both Nicolas Cage and the distinctive teen culture of California's San Fernando Valley.
The movie's soundtrack provided an early '80s time capsule, filled with New Wave hits of the era, so it's no surprise that its remake, directed by Rachel Lee Goldenberg, focusses on the musical aspect.
Jessica Rothe and Josh Whitehouse step into the roles of the titular Valley Girl and her wrong side of the tracks love interest, originally played by Deborah Foreman and and Cage. Chloe Bennet, Jessie Ennis, Ashleigh Murray, Logan Paul, Mae Whitman and Peyton List also star.
Valley Girl debuts on US VOD May 8th. A UK/ROI release has yet to be announced.
