New trailer for writer/director Lara Jean Gallagher's feature debut.
Fresh off the now temporarily defunct film festival circuit, writer/director Lara Jean Gallagher's feature debut Clementine is the latest movie to avail of the 'Virtual Cinema' initiative in the US, where viewers can stream a new release with proceeds partly going to an associated local cinema.
The film is the latest psychological thriller to take place against the backdrop of an idyllic lake house, joining the likes of Leave Her to Heaven, The Deep End and Martha Marcy May Marlene. It's there that Karen (Otmara Marrero), recovering from a breakup, encounters and becomes drawn to a mysterious young woman (Sydney Sweeney) who leads her down a dark path. Will Brittain and Sonya Walger also star.
US viewers can watch Clementine through the Virtual Cinema system now. A UK/ROI release has yet to be announced.
Check out the trailer, poster and official synopsis below.
The official synopsis reads:
Reeling from a one-sided breakup, anguished Karen (Otmara Marrero) flees Los Angeles for her ex’s idyllic lake house in the Pacific Northwest. There, she becomes entangled with a mysterious, alluring younger woman (Sydney Sweeney), whom she cannot seem to resist. Equal parts psychological thriller and sexual coming-of-age story, CLEMENTINE is a tense rumination on who to love and how to let go.
