Arrow Video are bringing a new restoration of Hodges' thriller to blu-ray and VOD.
Director Mike Hodges' 1989 supernatural thriller Black Rainbow stars Rosanna Arquette as a young psychic with the dubious gift of being able to foresee tragic events. Tom Hulce is the journalist who attempts to mine a story from her abilities.
Hodges' film had a difficult time on its release, denied a theatrical run and sent straight to video due to the financial struggles of its distributor. Thanks to a brand new Hodges' approved restoration from the original negative, you can finally see Black Rainbow in all its glory.
Arrow Video will release Black Rainbow on the Arrow Video Channel on July 1st, followed by a blu-ray on July 6th.
Bonus features include a new audio commentary by film historians Kat Ellinger and Samm Deighan; an archival commentary by Hodges; archival Making Of; archival interviews with stars Arquette, Hulce and Jason Robards; archival featurettes; trailer; reversible sleeve; and a collector's booklet featuring new writing on the film by author Alexandra Heller-Nicholas, director Hodges and more illustrated with stills (first pressing only).

The official synopsis reads:
Martha Travis (Rosanna Arquette, Pulp Fiction, Crash) is a travelling clairvoyant on the road with her sceptic father (Jason Robards, Once Upon a Time in the West, Magnolia). During a séance Martha communicates a message from a dead man to his wife in the audience. Shocked, the wife insists her husband is still alive. Later that evening the husband is killed by a ruthless assassin. As Martha foresees more and more tragic events journalist Gary Wallace (Tom Hulce, Amadeus, Animal House) follows the pair in pursuit of a hot story… with catastrophically eerie results.
