Here's our guide to the new movies hitting UK Home Entertainment platforms next week (w/c June 29th).
While cinemas shut down during the lockdown, drive-ins across the US stayed open and did stellar business by all accounts. The two biggest hits on American drive-in screens were horror movies The Wretched and The Invisible Man, both of which arrive on UK DVD next week, along with the latest films from world cinema titans Werner Herzog and Pablo Larraín.

The Invisible Man
The Invisible Man is a modern tale of obsession inspired by Universal’s classic monster character. Cecilia Kass (Elisabeth Moss) slowly begins to rebuild her life after the death of her abusive ex-boyfriend (Oliver Jackson-Cohen). But before long, she begins to question whether or not he is truly gone.

Outback
Down Under for an adventure-filled vacation, a young American couple quickly find themselves stranded in the unforgiving Australian outback.

Lynn + Lucy
Lynn and Lucy are lifelong best friends, their relationship as intense as any romance. Neither has ventured far from where they grew up. Family Romance, LLC

Shot in Japan, with Japanese actors, in Japanese language, Oscar-nominated auteur Werner Herzog brings to the screen a unique angle to the recurring theme of individuals chasing impossible dreams.

Fantasy Island
Jeff Wadlow directs this reimagining of the 1970s television series about a hotel owner who makes the dreams and fantasies of his guests become a reality. Mr. Roarke (Michael Peña) prides himself on giving his guests their innermost secret dreams and wishes, but when these dreams turn into nightmares, they must fight for their lives if they want to return home.

Like a Boss
Best friends Mia and Mel (Tiffany Haddish and Rose Byrne) are living their best lives running their own cosmetics company they've built from the ground up. Unfortunately, they're in over their heads financially, and the prospect of a big buyout offer from a notorious titan of the cosmetics industry Claire Luna (Salma Hayek) proves too tempting to pass up, putting Mel and Mia's lifelong friendship in jeopardy. The beauty business is about to get ugly.

When an acclaimed music producer (Simon Pegg) goes off his medication for schizophrenia, his friends chase him though the LA music scene to help commit him to a psychiatric hospital, revealing the troubling inadequacies of our mental health care system.

Greed
Michael Winterbottom directs this comedy starring Steve Coogan, David Mitchell, Isla Fisher and Asa Butterfield. Self-made billionaire Richard McCreadie (Coogan) has made his money from owning retail outlets in the UK. After a public inquiry which damaged his image, he is desperate to regain trust and loyalty for the sake of his business. As his 60th birthday approaches, he tries to rekindle his relationship with many of his celebrity friends who have since deserted him, but will it be enough to rebuild his rapidly failing empire?

Ema
Chilean drama directed by Pablo Larraín. Unable to conceive a child of their own, dancer Ema (Mariana Di Girolamo) and her choreographer husband Gastón (Gael García Bernal) adopt a young Colombian boy but become troubled by his propensity for arson, and decide to give him up after he sets fire to their home, resulting in Ema's sister being hospitalised and permanently disfigured. Despite the couple's disastrous experience of adoption, Ema struggles to overcome the loss and her failure as a mother.

Shepherd: The Hero Dog
Shepherd is based on the award-winning and bestselling Israeli novel, "The Jewish Dog," by Asher Kravitz. Kaleb, a beloved German Shepherd, is separated from his Jewish family when the Nuremberg Laws are enacted in WWII Berlin. He is adopted by an SS Officer who trains him to attack and round up Jews at a concentration camp. Kaleb is well cared for and good at his job until one day when he is distracted by a familiar scent. His original master, a young boy named Joshua, has arrived as a prisoner of the camp. Kaleb has not lost his loyalty to Joshua who finds solace in secretly visiting his dog at night. Joshua's life is at risk. Together they escape the camp and after months of near-death experiences, they are found by partisans who help Joshua make safe passage to Israel.

The Public
Emilio Estevez writes, directs and stars in this American drama about a library that becomes a shelter for homeless people who rely on the building as a refuge from the cold. Following several deaths due to a cold snap in Cincinnati a number of homeless people, led by the loquacious Jackson (Michael K. Williams), refuse to leave the library when it is closing time. Librarian Stuart Goodson (Estevez) sympathises with their plight and agrees to let them spend the night there even though his colleague, Myra (Jena Malone), is against the idea. Once the authorities become aware of the situation a stand-off ensues with police negotiator Bill Ramstead (Alec Baldwin) attempting to remove the homeless people from the building in a peaceful manner.

The Eastern Front
Disillusioned by the war, weary German Officer Joachim Brandt and his disparate band of soldiers work with two female Russian prisoners to save the life of a wounded man. Jaded by years of loss and war horror, the prisoners want to escape but their aid and knowledge is vital to the others survival. If they’re caught by the Russians, they will be shown no mercy. Will their greater need for compassion and humanity win out?

The Wretched
A rebellious teenage boy, Ben, visiting his father for the summer makes a haunting discovery - a malevolent fiend from the deep woods stalks the young family living next door. Street Survivors: The True Story of the Lynyrd Skynyrd Plane Crash
In 1977, a plane carrying Southern rock legends Lynyrd Skynyrd mysteriously runs out of gas mid-air en route to a concert, crashing into a dangerous Louisiana swamp while killing several of the band members, crew and both pilots. Street Survivors tells the story through one of the survivors, drummer Artimus Pyle, who not only survived the fatal crash (that claimed the life of the band’s founder and front man Ronnie Van Zant amongst others), but who also bravely pulled the remaining survivors out of the plane wreckage before staggering towards the nearest farmhouse in rural Louisiana to seek help.
