American Psycho author Bret Easton Ellis and River's Edge director Tim Hunter team up for Smiley Face Killers, a thriller inspired by the real life American conspiracy theory that a series of drowning victims were actually murdered by serial killers.
In the film, Ronen Rubinstein plays a college student who becomes convinced the hooded man (Crispin Glover) stalking him is intent on making him the next victim of the smiley face murders. Mia Serafino also stars.
Smiley Face Killers is on US blu-ray, DVD and VOD from December 8th. A UK/ROI release has yet to be announced.

The official synopsis reads:
As a strange wave of mysterious drownings of male college students plagues the California coast, Jake Graham (Rubinstein) struggles to keep his life together at school. Finding himself stalked by a hooded figure (Glover) driving an unmarked van, Jake fears he may become the next victim in the killers’ horrific spree.
