Canada has a proud tradition of slasher movies going back to the boom of
the late '70s and early '80s. A throwback to that golden age, with a nod to
Wrong Turn along the way, is director Adrian Langley's
Butchers, in which a quartet of youths are menaced by a family of sadistic
backwoods butchers. The film stars Simon Phillips, Michael Swatton, Julie Mainville, Anne-Carolyne
Binette
and James Hicks.
To coincide with National Butcher's Week, Butchers will be
released on UK DVD March 8th, following its earlier Digital release on
February 22nd.
