Best known for his found footage horror Rec, Spanish director Jaume Balagueró now dabbles in the heist genre with
The Vault. The movie stars Freddie Highmore as an engineering genius
recruited by a bunch of criminals to help them break into the Bank of
Spain while the nation is distracted by a World Cup match. Can they keep a
clean sheet
or will it be a walkover?
Astrid BergeÌs-Frisbey, Sam Riley, Liam Cunningham, Jose Coronado, Luis Tosar, Emilio Gutieìrrez Caba,
Axel Stein, Daniel Holguiìn
and Famke Janssen also star.
The Vault is in US cinemas and on VOD from March 26th. A
UK/ROI release has yet to be announced.

The official synopsis reads:
When an engineer (Freddie Highmore) learns of a mysterious, impenetrable fortress hidden under The Bank of Spain, he joins a crew of master thieves who plan to steal the legendary lost treasure locked inside while the whole country is distracted by Spain’s World Cup Final. With thousands of soccer fans cheering in the streets, and security forces closing in, the crew have just minutes to pull off the score of a lifetime.
