FW Murnau's classic vampire thriller Nosferatu turns
100 this year and is returning to screens courtesy of a new
restoration.
Starring Max Schreck as one of horror cinema's most iconic villains,
Nosferatu was the first major screen telling of Bram Stoker's Dracula.
Despite Stoker's widow winning a court order to destroy all copies of the
film, some survived. Now, following a decades long search for the best
surviving materials, Nosferatu has been restored along
with a re-recording of the original score by Hans Erdmann.
The film will play in UK/ROI cinemas later this year, along with a
blu-ray release courtesy of Eureka Entertainment.
