Director Martika Ramirez Escobar's movie will close this year's Midnight
Madness strand of the Toronto International Film Festival.
Renowned Philippines stage actress Sheila Francisco makes her
screen lead role debut in writer/director Martika Ramirez Escobar's Leonor Will Never Die. Francisco plays Leonor Reyes, once a star of the Philippines' action cinema industry.
While reading an unfinished script she falls into a coma, and fiction and
reality begin to blur.
Bong Cabrera, Rocky Salumbides and Anthony Falcon also
star.
Leonor Will Never Die has been selected to as the closing
night film for this year's Midnight Madness strand of the Toronto International Film Festival.

The official synopsis reads:
Leonor Reyes was once a groundbreaking figure in the Filipino film industry during its ragtag action cinema glory days, but now she struggles with old age, mounting bills, and the untimely death of her son. While revisiting an unfinished script about a fearless protagonist trying to avenge his brother’s murder, Leonor is struck on the head by a falling television set and knocked into a coma. As she lays unconscious in the hospital, fantasy and reality begin to blur when Leonor finds herself awake inside her script, becoming the hero of her own story.
