Following his son Panah's recent directorial debut
Hit the Road, Jafar Panahi returns with No Bears as he continues
to defy the Iranian authorities. The film stars Panahi as a version of
himself who becomes involved with the making of a Turkish film. Two parallel
narratives emerge as reality begins to imitate art.
Naser Hashemi, Vahid Mobaseri, Bakhtiyar Panjei, Mina Kavani and
Reza Heydari also star.
No Bears will be playing the festival circuit in the coming
months, with a UK/ROI release yet to be announced.
Following the recent release of the first trailer, a poster has been
unveiled, which you can see along with the trailer below.
The official synopsis reads:
No Bears portrays two parallel love stories. In both, the lovers are troubled by hidden, inevitable obstacles, the force of superstition and the mechanics of power.
