A major influence on 1994's Speed, director Junya Sato's 1975 thriller
The Bullet Train stars Ken Takakura as a madman who boards a bullet train with an
explosive device set to detonate if the train slows down to less than
80kmph. The film also stars Japanese icon Sonny Chiba as the
train's heroic conductor.
The Bullet Train will make its UK bluray debut courtesy of
Eureka Entertainment on April 24th from a new 2K restoration.
Bonus features include the original Japanese theatrical version and alternate dubbed international
version; new audio commentary by Jasper Sharp and Tom Mes; new interviews with Kim
Newman and Tony Rayns; and an archival featurette.

The official synopsis reads:
Ken Takakura stars as a mad bomber who plants a device on a high-speed Japanese train, programmed to detonate if the train's speed drops below 80 kilometres per hour. The trains conductor (Sonny Chiba) must keep the train moving whilst the police track the madman down.
