Directed by Guy Ritchie, who co-wrote the script with Ivan Atkinson and Marn Davies,
The Covenant stars Jake Gyllenhaal as John Kinley, a
US soldier whose life was saved by Ahmed (Dar Salim), an Afghan interpreter. When Kinley learns that Ahmed has been betrayed by
the US military and left behind, he returns to Afghanistan to find Ahmed and
his family.
The film also stars Antony Starr, Alexander Ludwig, Bobby Schofield, Emily Beecham and
Jonny Lee Miller.
The Covenant is in US cinemas from April 21st. A UK/ROI
release has yet to be announced.

The official synopsis reads:
Guy Ritchie’s The Covenant follows US Army Sergeant John Kinley (Jake Gyllenhaal) and Afghan interpreter Ahmed (Dar Salim). After an ambush, Ahmed goes to Herculean lengths to save Kinley’s life. When Kinley learns that Ahmed and his family were not given safe passage to America as promised, he must repay his debt by returning to the war zone to retrieve them before the Taliban hunts them down first.
