Thanks to Rian Johnson's Knives Out series and Kenneth Branagh's all-star
Agatha Christie adaptations, the whodunit is enjoying something of a
revival. The latest addition to the fad is director Stephen Shimek's
Invitation to a Murder, a 1930s-set mystery that stars Mischa Barton as an amateur
detective summoned to the home of a billionaire where a murder is
committed.
Chris Browning, Seamus Dever and Bianca Santos also
star.
Invitation to a Murder is on US VOD from April 25th. A UK/ROI
release has yet to be announced.

The official synopsis reads:
In this homage to Agatha Christie, set in England, an amateur detective finds herself caught up in a real-life whodunit! Miranda Green (Mischa Barton, “The O.C.”) is summoned to the remote mansion of billionaire Lewis Findley along with five mysterious strangers. What do they all have in common? What’s become of their absent host? And who just murdered one of the guests in cold blood? Now Miranda must hunt for hidden clues, interview witnesses, and find the killer — before she becomes the next victim!
