The directorial debut of Robert Higgins and Patrick McGivney,
Lakelands stars Éanna Hardwicke as a young man whose Gaelic football career is
ended prematurely when he suffers a beating on a night out. In a small
Irish town obsessed with the sport, Cian seeks to rebuild himself and find
a new purpose.
Danielle Galligan, Gary Lydon, Dafhyd Flynn and
Lorcan Cranitch also star.
Lakelands makes its UK debut on March 4th at the Glasgow
Film Festival and will be released in UK/ROI cinemas on May 5th.

The official synopsis reads:
The film follows Cian, a young Gaelic footballer struggling to come to terms with a career-ending injury after an attack on a night out. He undertakes a search for his own identity in a small town where Gaelic football is a religion, and identity is defined by what you can do on the pitch.
