Having recently made his debut in the western genre with
The Old Way, Nicolas Cage is on horseback once again for
Butcher's Crossing, an adaptation of the 1960 novel by John Edward Williams.
Directed by Gabe Polsky and co-written with Liam Satre-Meloy, the film sees Cage play Miller, a buffalo hunter
who convinces a Harvard graduate (Fred Hechinger) to finance a trip
to a remote Colorado valley where the buffalo roam in their thousands. As
the trip progresses, Miller becomes increasingly unstable, endangering the
rest of his party.
Xander Berkeley, Rachel Keller, Jeremy Bobb and
Paul Raci also star.
Butcher's Crossing is in US cinemas from October 20th. A
UK/ROI release has yet to be announced.
