Wolf Creek have taught us one thing it's that foreigners
should avoid the Australian outback. The young protagonists of
The Royal Hotel ignore such advice to their detriment.
Director Kitty Green co-writes with Oscar Redding and reteams
with her
The Assistant
star Julia Garner, who plays Hanna, an American who takes a job in a
remote outback bar with her travelling companion Liv (Jessica Henwick). When the girls make enemies of some local men... well, you know how this
goes.
The film also stars
Hugo Weaving, Toby Wallace, Ursula Yovich and James Frecheville.
A release date has yet to be announced but you can check out the trailer

The official synopsis reads:
Americans Hanna (Julia Garner) and Liv (Jessica Henwick) are best friends backpacking in Australia. After they run out of money, Liv, looking for an adventure, convinces Hanna to take a temporary live-in job behind the bar of a pub called 'The Roval Hotel' in a remote Outback mining town. Bar owner Billy and a host of locals give the girls a riotous introduction to Down Under drinking culture but soon Hanna and Liv find themselves trapped in an unnerving situation that grows rapidly out of their control.
