Following
Halloween
and
The Exorcist, the latest horror franchise to be revived is The Omen. Directed by Arkasha Stevenson with a story by Ben Jacoby and a screenplay by Stevenson,
Tim Smith and Keith Thomas,
The First Omen takes us back to the 1970s.
Nell Tiger Free plays a young American who travels to Rome to begin
a life as a nun. There she uncovers a Satanic conspiracy.
The film also stars Tawfeek Barhom, Sonia Braga, Ralph Ineson and
Bill Nighy.
The First Omen is in cinemas on April 5th.
Check out the first trailer (which nods to satanic panic era heavy metal
by playing its images backwards) and poster below.
The official synopsis reads:
When a young American woman is sent to Rome to begin a life of service to the church, she encounters a darkness that causes her to question her own faith and uncovers a terrifying conspiracy that hopes to bring about the birth of evil incarnate.
