Following Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, the latest slasher movie to exploit lapsed copyright is director
Jamie Bailey and writer Simon Phillips' The Mouse Trap. On January 1st of this year the copyright lapsed on the version of Mickey
Mouse as seen in his screen debut Steamboat Willie, allowing anyone to now use the original likeness of the Disney
icon.
The Mouse Trap stars Sophie McIntosh as Alex, whose
21st birthday takes a dark turn when a killer clad in a Mickey Mouse mask
starts butchering her friends.
The Mouse Trap is on US VOD from August 6th and UK/ROI VOD
from September 30th.
