The directorial debut of film critic Mary Beth McAndrews,
Bystanders sees a college party take a nightmarish turn when
the frat boys drug, sexually assault and hunt the girls they've invited.
Teen Abby teams up with couple Clare and Gray to survive the night and take
revenge.
The film stars Jamie Alvey (who also wrote the script),
Brandi Blotkin, Garrett Murphy, Bob Wilcox and
Hannah Fierman.
"Bystanders has been incredibly close to my heart since I
first read Jamie Alvey's script," says McAndrews. "As a sexual assault survivor, being able to tell this story in all of its
gory glory has been incredibly cathartic and liberating. A film like
Bystanders is more important now than ever and I'm thrilled
that Dread is helping us share it with the world."
Bystanders is on US VOD from January 21st. A UK/ROI review
has yet to be announced.
