Riffing on Fassbinder's The Bitter Tears of Petra Kant, director Vahid Hakimzadeh's
The Bitter Tears of Zahra Zand stars Boshra Dastournezhad as the titular Zahra Zand, an Iranian fashion
designer who flees the Islamic Revolution of 1979 for London, where she
attempts to reinvent herself with the aid of a young muse (Melina Farahani).
The film also stars Pari Armineh, Goli Samii, Avin Manshadi and
Soussan Farrokhnia.
The Bitter Tears of Zahra Zand is in UK cinemas
April.
