First Trailer for British-Iranian Drama THE BITTER TEARS OF ZAHRA ZAND
Director Vahid Hakimzadeh's drama comes to UK cinemas in April.

Riffing on Fassbinder's The Bitter Tears of Petra Kant, director Vahid Hakimzadeh's The Bitter Tears of Zahra Zand stars Boshra Dastournezhad as the titular Zahra Zand, an Iranian fashion designer who flees the Islamic Revolution of 1979 for London, where she attempts to reinvent herself with the aid of a young muse (Melina Farahani).

The film also stars Pari Armineh, Goli Samii, Avin Manshadi and Soussan Farrokhnia.

The Bitter Tears of Zahra Zand is in UK cinemas April.

The official synopsis reads:

Zahra Zand has fled the Islamic Revolution of 1979. Robbed of her success and recently divorced, she lives in the stylish fantasy world of her apartment in 1980s London. Desperate to reinvent herself, she discovers a young and free-spirited muse named Sheila. So begins Zahra's romantic attempt to recapture her glory days.
