
Drawing comparisons to Amelie, Mexican writer-director Urzula Barba Hopfner's debut feature Corina
stars Naian González Norvind as the title character. A shy young woman who
hides away in her home when she's not working at a publishing house,
Corina is forced to come out of her shell when she makes a potentially
career-ending error at work. Teaming up with Carlos (Cristo Fernández), Corina sets off on a journey to track down the elusive
writer who can save her job.
The film also stars Carolina Politi, Mariana Gimenez, Laura de Ita and Gerardo
Trejoluna.
Corina has proven a hit on the Mexican festival circuit and makes its
North American debut at the SXSW Film Festival on March 8th.

The film tells the story of Corina, a young woman who, for the past 20 years, has rarely left her house except to work at a local publishing house. When she makes a grave mistake in the final installment of the company's most famous book saga, her world is thrown into turmoil. To save her job—and the future of the publishing house—she must confront her deepest fears and, with the help of Carlos, embark on a daring journey to track down a mysterious writer whose words hold the key to redemption.
