Lithuania's selection for this year's Oscars was writer/director Laurynas Bareiša's Drowning Dry, which also scooped the Best Director award at last year’s Locarno Film Festival.
The film sees two sisters, Ernesta (Gelminė Glemžaitė) and Justė (Agnė Kaktaitė), have their lives impacted when one of their sons suffers a near-death experience on a weekend getaway.
Drowning Dry is in US cinemas from July 18th. A UK/ROI release has yet to be announced.

The official synopsis reads:
DROWNING DRY tells the story of two sisters, Ernesta (Gelminė Glemžaitė) and Justė (Agnė Kaktaitė), whose lives are irrevocably altered after a near-tragic accident involving one of their children during a weekend getaway with their spouses, Tomas (Giedrius Kiela) and Lukas (Paulius Markevičius).
