Nicolas Cage's latest offbeat role sees him collaborate with director Lorcan Finnegan (Vivarium; Nocebo) for The Surfer. Written by Thomas Martin, the film sees Cage play a surfer who returns to his childhood beach hoping to catch some waves with his son. When he's barred from doing so by a group of locals, it sets him down an angry path of conflict.
Also starring are Julian McMahon, Nic Cassim, Miranda Tapsell, Alexander Bertrand and Justin Rosniak.
The Surfer is in UK/ROI cinemas from May 9th.

The official synopsis reads:
A man returns to the idyllic beach of his childhood to surf with his son, but is humiliated by a group of powerful locals and drawn into a conflict that rises with the punishing heat of the summer and pushes him right to his breaking point.
